 Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose Chris Chambers Photography for my wedding?

As a full time professional wedding photographer With experience of photographing hundreds of weddings at venues across the UK and now Europe, you can be assured of the quality and professionalism of my work.

The packages and level of service offered is probably unique amongst wedding photographers.  A full day's attendance ensures that every special moment of your day is captured as it happens from make up to dancing, breakfast to fireworks.  The informal relaxed nature of the photographs ensures that you and your guests enjoy the experience without it becoming a chore whilst at the same time ensuring that all your photography requirements are met.

By limiting the number of weddings I photograph  each year I can ensure the same high level of service and quality to all couples. Unlike a lot of other photographers I only photograph one wedding per day and anyone booking me for their wedding is safe in the knowledge that I am the main photographer (Often with a second shooter) and  I don't farm jobs out to other photographers working on my behalf.

When and how do we see the photographs?

Usually your gallery of edited photographs is online within three days of the wedding, typically much sooner. Your images also appear in the blog, usually a couple of days after the wedding allowing you a sneaky peak.

The password protected gallery offers you and your guests a chance to view the images before your proof book is ready. On return from honeymoon your proof book and slideshow DVD is waiting for you. Both of these are yours to keep. Don't forget you also have the option of a screen set up at your evening reception displaying between thirty and sixty edited images from the day, allowing you and your guests a look at just some of the images which will form part of your proofs.

What style of photography do you use?

Typically during the course of your wedding I will shoot in a number of styles including reportage (Candid usually with a long lens), traditional (groups) and some more contemporary styled images to give you the maximum choice and variety for your wedding photograph album. The actual style of photography is determined by the bride and groom and discussed during the pre-wedding meeting. At the same time we'll plan in any formal group photos you may require.

We are getting married outside the Yorkshire Region...

That's no problem at all, in the last few years I have travelled to Rome, the Lake District, Aberdeen, North Wales, Plymouth and Bristol to photograph weddings. There are no additional costs for weddings in  West Yorkshire and Cumbria. Additional costs maybe incurred for weddings outside these areas.

Do you work alone?

Typically for large weekend weddings I will have an assistant and or a second photographer with me. Whilst I am working on the formal photographs of any groups or with the Bride and Groom they will stay with the guests to continue shooting the informal images.

Can we tailor one of your packages?

The wedding packages on the wedding services page have been designed to offer a variety of albums, images sizes and prices, hopefully they cater for all your needs. Tailoring one of the existing packages to increase the number of pages, enlarge images or change album style wouldn't be an issue and is something we could discuss at any time from booking.

Does Chris Chambers Photography photograph anything other than weddings and portraits?

I am almost unique in the Yorkshire region in that around 95% of my business is  wedding photography. I work on a commercial basis for several large organisations including The Royal Air Force, Engage Mutual Assurance, RWE N Power and Intimo Design. I am also commissioned by national news media and magazines.

How long will it take for our album to be ready?

Following your return from honeymoon, you choose the images required for your album, (Some couples manage it in a few weeks, others take over a year!). Once chosen we can then discuss layout styles, page colours etc. From this stage your album is usually ready within two to three weeks.
