A bank holiday and no rain, well it was too much to ask! Sunday the met office got it right and it rained, rained and then just when we started taking photos again, it rained some more!

Spirits were still high and guests seemed not to notice (well not much). After group shots inside Christ Church in Liversedge, the bride and groom were quickly in the car heading to the Holiday Inn in Brighouse for their wedding reception. The hotel interior lends itself perfectly to the style that mark and Nicola were looking for and a slight break in the weather allowed us to quickly head outside for a few images.

Scott and Rebecca were married at Burntwood Court near Brierly on Saturday. Following pre-wedding photos at Rebecca's mum's house it was onto Burntwood to catch Scott and the groomsmen who had stayed the night at Burntwood. 

The weather was once again fantastic and so once the group images had been taken Scott and Rebecca took a walk around the hotel grounds for a variety of images and some nice personal time together before the wedding breakfast.

The evening was rounded off with a firework display.

Mark and Kelly married in a civil ceremony at Waterton Park on Friday. The forecasters thankfully got the weather wrong and the guests were able to enjoy post ceremony drinks outside on the island. This was also an opportunity for Mark and Kelly to enjoy some quiet time as we took some time away for photos of just the two of them. Although it seems like an age since there pre-wedding shoot they were both quickly into the swing of posing and making the most of the excellent views and photo opportunities.

Ian and Kelly live literally a few hundred yards from my office so it was possibly the shortest journey for bridal preparations that I will ever have to make! Arriving at their home to photograph Kelly, the bride and bridesmaids were all incredibly bubbly, the excitement of the day really showing in the atmosphere of the day, and the biggest bottle of Moet ever seen, was still half full!

The opportunity for some shots of Ian and his best man and usher getting ready weren't to be missed and so as Kelly began dressing I quickly shot off to photograph the men, arriving back just in time for the fastening of the dress.

The ceremony was held at Castleford Parish Church where as usual Father David allowed almost free reign and the opportunity for some nice close up images from the front of the church. So often the officiating minister doesn't allow photography from the front, this is a real shame as often even shooting from a static location as today there are superb opportunities for photos.

Following the ceremony and photos outside the church we headed off to Bagden Hall near Denby Dale for the wedding reception. During the evening the guests were entertained with a wedding singer, Casino and portraits, Ian and Kelly even supplying a seaside style bride and groom cut out for the guests to have their photo taken with!

With only a few weeks to go before their wedding I caught up with Mark and Nicola on Sunday in Wakefield for a pre-wedding shoot.

almost exactly a month after their pre-wedding shoot at Newmillerdam, it was time to catch up with Helen and Andy again, this time at Monk Fryston Hall for their wedding day.

A civil ceremony was followed by a drinks reception and then onto photos around the very photogenic grounds of Monk Fryston Hall. Helen and Andy were quickly into the swing of things and required little direction from myself or their vidoegrapher to catch some great natural images, (and a few posed also!).

Niall and Rachel married on Friday at St Mary's church in Tickhill near Doncaster before making their way to Wakefield for their wedding reception at Walton Hall, Waterton Park.

The changeable weather allowed just enough time to take Rachel and Niall around the island for their photos and a full guest shot on the cobbled pathway.

After a short break for a family holiday it was into the wedding mix once again on Saturday for Liz and Rob's wedding at Wentbridge House near Pontefract. The weather came up trumps (No mean feat considering the awful forecast the evening before). The bright sun and clear blue skies really working well with the couples chosen colour theme of Blue and Yellow.

Following their pre-wedding shoot a few weeks ago the couple breezed through their posed photos (a part of the day neither were really looking forward to) and were quickly back with family and friends enjoying canopies and drinks on the lawn.

The evening concluded with a céilidh style band and party helping to ensure almost all the guests were up and dancing.
