February 22nd Pre-wedding shoot Glenn
and Penny, Hazlewood Castle
I met up with Glenn and Penny again on Sunday at
Hazlewood Castle to finalise their wedding day
photography plans and to head out into the grounds
for a pre-wedding photo shoot
under the watchful gaze of two of the castle's infamous
black cats.

February 22nd Pre wedding shoot, Sarah
and Julian, Hodsock Priory near Blyth
Julian and Sarah are marrying at Hodsock
Priory later this year, we met up again on Sunday at
Hodsock Priory for a pre-wedding photo shoot. With
Hodsock Priory still open to the public each weekend for
their annual 'Snowdrops' we chose some different
locations around the grounds away from the crowds and in
the process found some excellent new locations for
wedding photographs.
Sarah Added:
We
really enjoyed doing the photo shoot and it has made us
feel much more at ease with having our pictures taken on
the day.

February 15th Pre-wedding shoot, Neil
and Gemma, Hodsock Priory near Blyth
At this time of year Hodsock Priory is
open to the public each weekend for their annual
'Snowdrops', so it was an early start to beat the public
on Sunday morning for Neil and Gemma's pre-wedding shoot
at the North Nott's wedding venue.
With the initial nerves overcome, the
interaction between Neil and Gemma was excellent
throughout the pre-wedding shoot, certainly making my
job easier and will no doubt reflect in the relaxed
style of wedding photographs everyone wishes for when
they get married in April.

14th February 2009, Wedding Carlton
Towers near Snaith, Amy and Oliver
Amy and Oliver were married in a civil
ceremony at Carlton Towers near Sanith on Saturday
afternoon. Marrrying on Valentines day the obvious
choice was a red colour theme and of course red roses.
The romantic setting of Carlton Towers provided the
ideal venue for their wedding celebrations.
Although marrying late afternoon, Amy
and Oliver were able to make use of the last available
light for a number of outdoor photographs before we had
to break out the tripod for the night shots. The
couples reception rolled into the wedding breakfast and
evening reception with Amy and Oliver kicking off the
dancing just after ten.
Following on from their
pre-wedding shoot last
year Amy and Oliver took advantage of a
signing board instead
of their traditional wedding guest book.

7th February 2009, Wedding, Burntwood
Court near Barnsley, David and Claire
Having met up with David, Claire and
their boys only a few weeks before for a
pre-wedding shoot I was looking forward to
today, especially as the weather forecast had predicted
blue skies and freezing temperatures there was a good
chance the snow would hold a day longer and we would be
virtually guaranteed stunning winter wedding
photographs. The snow around the back of
Burntwood Court was virtually untouched and
it didn't take much persuasion to have the car parked on
the snowy field.
With the temperatures hovering around
zero we worked quickly through the photos before warming
up at the drinks reception. The cold weather certainly
increases the speed of working, especially when I'd let
Claire wear my jacket between photos!
During the evening reception Dave and
Claire opened the dancing before the guests were
entertained with a live band.

Claire Added:
Well where do we start, firstly we are so pleased that
we changed the date of our wedding, as we couldn't have
imaged it without you or your crew!!! We had an
absolutely fantastic day, which was already fading from
my memory (I've got two kids remember!!) and your
photo's just brought it all back, they are absolutely
fantastic. We can't thank you enough, just got to
decided which one's to include in the album, which is no
easy task.
Once again, thank
you so much
Claire & Dave x
Chris C added: I'd better
elaborate on Claire's comments above.... Claire and
David had seen my work and decided I was the
photographer they wanted and so changed the date of
their wedding to tie in with my availability. Being
asked to photograph anyone's wedding is a real
privilege, but when couples actually plan their
wedding around you it's a humbling experience,
thank you so much.

6th February 2009, Wedding, Woodlands
Hotel Leeds, Sam and Chris |
|
The snow from Monday had lasted and so on
Friday afternoon I arrived to a very white Woodlands
Hotel near Gildersome, Leeds for Sam and Chris' wedding.
The wedding today was scheduled for 1630 but thankfully
Chris and Sam had agreed that we should do the
photographs before the ceremony and so we were able to
take advantage of the good light and of course the
winter wonderland the snow had created. With a small
gathering of friends and family before the ceremony we
took a number of formals photos and then with Sam and
Chris alone we worked quickly to take some in the great
light and rather chilly conditions before the rest of
the guests arrived. Sam and Chris then went their
separate ways before meeting up again in the wedding
ceremony. (The not seeing each other before the wedding
is an English tradition and superstition and is unheard
of in most countries around the world).
Following the wedding ceremony the guests
enjoyed a drinks reception in the Arnagé Bar before
heading through to the marquee for the wedding breakfast
and combined evening reception.

2nd February 2009 - Congratulations
Rachael and Andy + Lindsay and David
It's always great to hear from couples
whose weddings I have photographed previously to say
they've had their first baby. This week Rachael and Andy
got in touch to say their baby daughter was born a few
weeks ago and today Lindsay has called to say that she
gave birth to baby daughter Olivia only last week.
(Rachael and Andy were married in July 2007 at Woolley
church, Lindsay and David's wedding was at
Hazlewood Castle last summer). |
