June 30th 2008 - Wedding, Nostell
Priory, Jamie and Nikki
Jamie and Nikki chose to marry at Nostell
Priory near Wakefield and as you drive up towards the
house you can certainly see why. The ceremony was held
within the house after which guests moved across to the
courtyard Rose Garden for drinks and photos where a
string quartet played beneath the trees before the
wedding breakfast.
Following speeches Jamie and Nikki
took a walk down to the lake behind the house for some
quiet time and photos before heading back for their well
received and well rehearsed first dance routine. |

Following on from their
pre-wedding shoot earlier
this year Jamie and Nikki had a
signing board for
their guests to add their messages of good will. |

One last gratuitous shot of Nostell I
took last week. Wragby church is visible in the bottom
of the frame whilst the courtyard can be seen on the far
left of the image. |

29th June - Trash
the Dress, Kelly and Ian - On the beach
Kelly and Ian were
married back in April, having chosen their album photos
and approved their Graphistudio album layout already
they decided it was time for one last wedding related
bit of fun - to Trash the Dress!
Trashing the dress
isn't as violent as the name suggests, merely an
opportunity to put your wedding dress back on (Before
you've had it professionally cleaned) and have
some fun posing in places that you'd never dream of on
your wedding day. We agreed that the coast would offer
the best opportunities for some thing really different
and so on Sunday morning we met up at a not so sunny
Bridlington.
The Maldives it
wasn't, the water temperature laid testament to
this, however we quickly moved into the water where we
all got a good soaking - this was after all why we came.
If you are interested
in a trash the dress session these are available free to
brides already married until August 30th. Brides who
didn't have me as their photographer can still book a
session before August 30th at a cost of £100 including a
disc of images. After August 30th the price for a
session will be £200 including a large framed print. |

and Vikki - Walton Hall at Waterton Park
Dave and Vikki are marrying at Waterton
Park in September. I caught up with them again at the
venue on Monday evening for a
pre-wedding photo shoot in what can only be
described as perfect light. Even I had nothing to whinge
about! |

22nd June - Wedding , Ringwood Hall,
Chesterfield - Tom and Claire
Tom and Claire were married Sunday At
Ringwood Hall near Chesterfield. Ringwood is unique in
the area by being able to offer outdoor wedding
ceremony's thanks to their licensed bandstand. With
temperamental weather forecasts the outside ceremony
hung in the balance, the hotel even preparing the indoor
room just in case Thankfully the rain held off and the
ceremony took place outdoors, along with all the photos
- following yesterday's down pour something we were all
thankful for. |

21st June - Wedding, Woolley Hall near
Wakefield - James and Natalie
Midsummer's day felt more autumnal than
summer, arriving at Woolley Hall near Wakefield for
James and Natalie's wedding the usual building exterior
shot was taken from inside the car, although I did slow
down to let Alex compose his shot! The Hall was just
about visible through the rain.
Although the family shots were taken
indoors the bridal party braved the elements, albeit
under brollies for some outdoor images. Thankfully
following the wedding breakfast and speeches the weather
had dried up outside allowing only temporary respite
from the rain, but enough time to grab some more photos
of guests and James and Natalie. |

19th June - Wedding, Hazlewood Castle
near York, David and Lindsay
David and Lindsay were married at
Hazlewood Castle on Thursday. Lindsay went through the
preparation rituals of hair make up and a few glasses of
fizz at Hazlewood whilst David was surprised by a
chauffeur driven journey to the castle from their Leeds
home.
Excellent weather allowed us to make full
use of the grounds around the castle before rejoining
the wedding party for more informal images.

June 2008 - New logos
Following plenty of messing around with
ideas and hours spent in Photoshop cursing the computer,
I finally contacted a graphic designer with a brief to
produce a company logo. The chosen logo will
shortly be appearing on the website and all new
stationery. |

June 14th 2008 - Wedding, Aldwark
Manor near York - Richard and
Louise Following on from their
pre-wedding shoot a few months ago, it was good to catch
up with Richard and Louise at Aldwark manor near York on
Saturday. With better weather than the day of the
pre-wedding shoot we were able to make use of the ground
sand even managed a sneaky couple of photos on the
golf course! A cardinal sin at most venues but something
Richard and Louise specifically wanted.
During the evening we shot portraits,
but instead of the usual indoor studio we set up
outdoors, complete with lighting, computer and printer,
the different approach worked really well and the guests
were more than willing to pose for personal photos. |

June 2nd - Wedding,
Worltey Hall, Sheffield
- Matthew and Cheryl
A new venue for me,
Wortley Hall can be found just off the M1 between
Sheffield and Barnsley, set in acres of well maintained
grounds the Hall is an ideal venue for weddings and
especially photos - I'm sounding like the blurb you'd
read in their brochure! |
