Wrapping up well on Sunday afternoon for a portrait session with Leila at Monk Fryston Hall near Selby.

Sharon and Richard are to marry at Hodsock Priory later next month. Hodsock is well know for it's annual 'Snowdrops' and so to beat the expected crowds we met up early morning on Sunday, Richard and Sharon brought along their young son Alex to join in with the photos and get a feel for the big day.

An early start on Thursday involved a trip to East Midlands airport for a 4.30 check in for a flight to Rome for today’s pre-wedding shoot. Marco and Christina are marrying in September at the Church of Santa Mario in Aracoeli, Campidoglio Square, Rome.

Meeting up at the church was an ideal opportunity to put Marco’s local knowledge to the test and recce the possible locations for the wedding photos. The church is conveniently  located next to the historic Forum and only minutes from the Coliseum. The impressive Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps are a short car journey away. (although in Rome perhaps walking can be just as quick).

Following a walk around the Forum and shooting off a few images of the couple we headed to the Coliseum to confirm the best locations to use on the big day. The Trevi fountain and Spanish steps are also planned shoot locations for the wedding day so following a stop for lunch we took a look at them both, again using the opportunity to fire off some more images of the happy couple.

Marco and Christina were guests at Gary and Joanne’s wedding at Bagden Hall last August.

Mark and Kelly will be married in May at Walton Hall, Waterton Park. Following a  coffee and chat about photography styles we headed outdoors to take a few shots around the island giving Mark and Kelly plenty of practice before their big day.

Thurston and Caroline - Marrying next month at Carlton Towers near Snaith Thurston and Caroline were looking for something a little different for their pre-wedding shoot and so we agreed to meet up on the towpath of a local canal where a couple of old barges and a bridge were put to good use as their pre-wedding wedding warm up.

Beverley and Jason are marrying next month and celebrating with a reception at Wentbridge House. Following a chat about their photo requirements for the wedding day, we headed outside for a pre-wedding photo shoot to allow the happy couple the opportunity for some practice photos. Excellent winter light made the photos all the more rewarding. Hopefully the weather on the day will offer similar opportunities.

A fast paced and fun session on Wednesday evening provided some fantastic images from the mobile studio and will make great Christmas presents.

Following yesterdays hectic portraits today took a slightly more genteel approach with a pre-wedding shoot early morning at Newmillerdam for Jason and Rebecca who are to marry next May.

A mammoth day of portraits on Saturday with no less than 24 portrait sessions as part of a charity photo shoot to raise money for a local children's charity. Monday and my arms and legs are still aching!

With their wedding now only a few weeks away I met up with Amy and Karl Sunday afternoon at Newmillerdam near Wakefield for a pre-wedding photo shoot and to run through their photo plans for their big day in December.

An early Sunday morning portrait session in Smeaton Village near Wentbridge. Having photographed their wedding early last year it was good to catch up with Jo, Mark and children again on Sunday for an outdoor portrait session. Jo had asked for friends and their children to come along and so in scenes reminiscent of the Pied Piper we made out way into the woods with no fewer than eleven children in tow.

Monday afternoon saw me shooting a model portfolio for local model Katie Cheesman. Using Sandal Castle and the Hotel St Pierre at Newmillerdam as backdrops, the photo shoot was being filmed for a forthcoming series on BBC3 about new models.

Following a busy day at the Hodsock Priory wedding fayre I called in at Yvonne and Dan's for a pre-wedding portrait shoot. With a young daughter we decided that it would be ideal to shoot indoors against a white backdrop. Yvonne and Dan marry later next month at Hellaby Hall.

Marrying in December this year I caught up with Melanie and Richard at Oulton Hall near Leeds yesterday evening for a pre-wedding photo shoot. (Pre-wedding shoot details here)

With fantastic weather and blue skies everywhere todays portrait session made the most of the good weather using Lotherton Hall near Leeds as the setting.

An indoor session for Mia at her home in Kippax. Plenty of coaxing and even bribery from mum and dad helped ensure plenty of images.

Following a chat and talk through style of photography at their wedding we headed out into Hodsock Priory's excellent grounds to take some posed and fun photographs.

With their wedding fast approaching I met up with Neil and Emma at Walton Hall at Waterton Park Thursday evening for a pre-wedding photo shoot (Details here). The pre-wedding shoot is a great way of building confidence and a rapport which on the big day helps ensure your photos are more relaxed and natural.

Fantastic weather this afternoon helped ensure we made the most of Bretton Country Park for today's portrait session. With a three year old and six month old baby to entertain, the park provided plenty of distractions and of course great locations.

Marrying later this year I caught up with Terence and Natalie for a pre-wedding shoot at Newmillerdam near Wakefield before heading off to use a nearby cornfield I had spotted earlier in the week.

In preparation for their wedding at Holdsworth House at the end of next month, I caught up with Dale and Sophie at Newmillerdam for a pre-wedding shoot early Sunday evening.

An early morning shoot to catch six month old Joesph at his best helped prove the old adage of never work with children and animals, on this particular Monday Jospeh broke with routine and woke at 0530 and was ready for a long snooze when we were ready for the photos! As with all portrait sessions involving young children, the timings are flexible around their requirements and so if like today the shoot doesn't tie in with their routine we can reschedule for free.
