Frequently asked questions – Chris Chambers Photography

Why should I choose Chris Chambers Photography for my wedding?

I’m a full-time professional Yorkshire wedding photographer with experience photographing hundreds of weddings across Yorkshire, the UK and Europe.

My approach combines relaxed, unobtrusive documentary photography with the more creative signature images you’ll see throughout my website. I’m five times winner of UK Wedding Photographer of the Year, along with Yorkshire Wedding Photographer of the Year and numerous other national photography awards.

Most importantly, I want you to enjoy your wedding day. Photography shouldn’t take over the day or leave you standing around for hours waiting for photographs.I am also a qualified member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers with the accreditation of ASWPP and the Guild of Photographers. . This means my work has been judged to a high standard and am one of only a handful of ASWPP qualified photographers within the Yorkshire region.

When will we see our wedding photographs?

You won’t have to wait weeks for your first photographs. My wedding packages include a same-day preview gallery with edited photographs available to download and share. Many packages also include my large-screen evening slideshow, where I’ll display a selection of photographs from earlier in the day during your evening reception. Your complete edited wedding gallery will follow after the wedding.

What style of photography do you shoot?

Typically during the course of your wedding I will shoot in a number of styles including reportage (Candid, usually with a long lens), traditional but relaxed (The dreaded group photos) and some more contemporary styled images to give you the maximum choice and variety for your wedding photograph album. The actual style of photography is determined by the bride and groom and discussed during the pre-wedding meeting. At the same time we’ll plan in any formal group photos you may require.

Do you offer wedding video?

Yes. Wedding Highlights Video can be added to selected wedding photography packages, with highlights films currently available from £500. Please ask when booking if you’d like photography and film coverage together.

We are getting married outside the Yorkshire Region

That’s no problem at all, in the last few years I have travelled to Rome, Venice, Paris, the Lake District, Scotland, London, Devon and Cornwall. There are no additional costs for weddings in West Yorkshire and Cumbria. Additional costs maybe incurred for weddings outside these areas. Typically a wedding taking place more than forty miles from WF10 5EW would incur some additional travel expenses.

How many photographers are included with our package?

All our regular wedding photographyalbum ppackages include a second photographer. This allows for a lot more candid and natural photographs during the day, it also allows coverage of the wedding ceremony from multiple angles without me causing a distraction during your wedding ceremony by having to move around.

Can we tailor one of your packages?

The wedding packages on the wedding services page have been designed to offer a variety of albums, images sizes and prices, hopefully they cater for all your needs. Tailoring one of the existing packages to increase the number of pages, enlarge images or change album style wouldn’t be an issue and is something we could discuss at any time from booking.

Do you have insurance?

I have full public Liability and employer liability insurance so both myself and the second photographer are fully insured. We also have full professional indemnity insurance just incase. Our drone operations are also fully insured.

How do we book?

A £250 photography deposit secures your wedding date.

The deposit is non-refundable after the 14-day cooling-off period and is used to reserve the date as well as covering the administration, planning, venue research and preparation involved before your wedding.

Your remaining balance is due six weeks before your wedding date. Do you use a drone?

I am a fully qualified and insured drone operator , weather and regulation permitting I maybe able to use a drone at your wedding. Due to various laws, permissions and the good old weather, this is not a service that can be guaranteed so is not listed as included with packages but where possible we will endeavour to include it.

How long will it take for our album to be ready?

Following your return from honeymoon, you choose the images required for your album, (Some couples manage it in a few weeks, others take almost a year!). Once chosen we can then discuss layout styles, page colours etc.
