Landscape Photographer of the Year | The Societies of Photographers | Award Winning Photographer

Late January I attended the annual awards ceremony for the Societies of Photographers in London. I had two photographs in the landscape category top ten and was hopeful of securing a top three place in the awards with one o the two photographs.

As the top three places were announced I was delighted to be placed third in the Landscape Category with a photograph of a lone tree at sunrise Snowdonia North Wales, I was shortly even happier to be awarded first place and overall landscape photographer of the year with my early morning photograph of a stormy and very atmospheric Kilchurn Castle in Scotland. (Above).

This is the second time I’ve won Landscape Photographer of the year with the Societies, the last being back in 2012, although I suppose I really should enter more to be in with a chance!

UK Landscape Photographer of the Year.

My Third place photograph below was of a lone tree in Llyn Padarn near LLanberis Snowdonia, the early morning photograph taken just before sunrise.
