The History of Solberge Hall.
Constructed in 1824 by John Hutton, a local landowner known for his innovative agricultural practices, Solberge Hall—originally called Sowber Hill—remained in the Hutton family for nearly a century. In 1913, it was acquired by Benjamin Talbot, an inventor and steel magnate, who resided there until his death in 1947. Talbot’s daughter, Viva Talbot, an artist, also lived at the Hall during this period.
Transformation into a Wedding Venue
In 2023, the Wharfedale Group acquired Solberge Hall and initiated a multi million pound refurbishment, transforming it into an exclusive-use wedding and events venue. The renovation preserved the Hall’s Georgian architecture while introducing luxurious interiors, including the chandelier-adorned Vinery and the elegant Garden Room
