Earlier this year Charlotte and Nick were married at All Saints Church in Spofforth before celebrating at Rudding Park near Harrogate. We joined Charlotte for bridal preparations at Rudding park before catching up with Nick and the groomsmen at All Saints church before the wedding ceremony, but that’s enough from me, lets leave it to Nick and Charlotte to tell us a little about their wedding day and celebrations at Rudding Park.
The proposal
Could there be a more idyllic setting for a wedding proposal? “Nick proposed to me on a beach at sunset in Mauritius”
The wedding venue – Ruddying Park Hotel, Harrogate Yorkshire
Rudding Park was our first choice for many reasons – we live very close by and have spent lots of time here, we have always thought it to be the perfect wedding venue which allowed us to have the intimate wedding that we wanted for 50 guests through the day but to increase numbers for the evening party. It lived up to all expectations and we had the most wonderful wedding day.
Saying Yes to the wedding dress
I was lucky and found may wedding dress very quickly- it was purchased from Ava Rose Hamilton, Silsden and was a Martina Liana design. I only tried on 5 but knew immediately that this was ‘the one’.
The Groomsmen suits
We wanted a traditional look for the day – We chose morning suits for Nick and the groomsmen, these were from Charles Tyrwhitt.
The flowers and colour theme
We kept our wedding theme traditional with a classic white and grey colour scheme Colette at Rudding Park provided all the amazing flowers which were all white, mainly roses
The First Dance
We danced to Amazed by Lonestar – a reminder of when we very first got together 10 years ago
What were your most memorable moments on your wedding day?
”It’s so difficult to choose – the whole day was magical! Seeing each other for the first time in Church, spending time with our nearest and dearest and the evening fireworks.”
Your tips for bride and grooms planning their wedding day?
“That’s easy….Try and enjoy it – it doesn’t need to be stressful. Just make the day about the two of you and if you can, grab 10 minutes to yourselves on the day to take it all in as it really does go as quickly as everyone tells you!”
