Bridlington Spa wedding Venue | Creating their new wedding brochure photographs | East Yorkshire Wedding Venue
I was recently commissioned by the East Riding Council in Yorkshire to produce a number of wedding style photographs for their recently relaunched Bridlington Spa weddings. In recent years the venue has undergone a huge refurbishment and they required images which helped show the versatility of the sea side wedding venue which can cater for small intimate weddings right upto larger celebrations with 500 guests.
The brief was to include several key areas of the Spa and of course take advantage of the stunning on the beach location.
The tide times helped dictate the main beach shoot which needed to take place early morning, the bonus being we had the opportunity to catch any potential sunrise and boy did it rise in spectacular fashion. Thankfully our models for the day were troopers, early January standing on a freezing beach in wet sand took some real effort to photograph, never mind pose.
With access to the Theatre, the Art Deco Royal Hall, and function rooms we had a variety of different lighting, smoke, and backdrops at our disposal.
One of the highlights for me was the opportunity to use the Follow Me spots and haze to create something that really is unique to The Spa. The opportunity for couples to have such wedding photographs in their albums will be amazing and one not to be missed.
Another favorite was the stage in the Royal Hall, complete with a large star cloth backdrop, stage lighting, and smoke machine. The stage is often used by bands and other touring acts, so much so that we had limited to complete the shoot as the stage was being prepared for a concert by the Keiser Chiefs who the following week would be entertaining 3000 people from that very stage.
The proximity to the sea front and near by beach huts allowed an opportunity to include them in a number of wedding photographs before we caught sunset from the beach.
