Rachael and Daniel were married earlier this summer at Carlton Towers East Yorkshire. With Helicopter arrivals, dog ring deliveries, crazy golf, dress changes and fireworks. An action packed, fun day. Rachael describes their day, choices and favourite wedding photographs below.

You were married at Carlton Towers did you look at any other wedding venues and what made Carlton Towers the one for you?

We looked at a couple of other wedding venues around Yorkshire, when we first saw Carlton Towers it was just so grand and fit perfectly for the fairytale wedding I had always dreamed of.

Please tell me about the proposal, who proposed, where etc

It was just as the lockdown restrictions were starting to be lifted, we went on a staycation to the treehouses at Ramside Hall, near Durham. I’d taken Frankie our Spaniel out on a walk and when I got back Daniel had champagne ready and had lit candles leading out to the balcony where he proposed.

Saying Yes to the Dress – How long did it take to find “the one” and where did you buy your wedding dress?

Honestly, not that long at all. I started trying wedding dresses on to get a feel for what style I liked. After visiting a few local bridal shops around Doncaster and South Yorkshire, I saw my wedding dress on the Be Envied bridal wear Facebook page and needed it! I loved everything about it, especially the uniqueness. – Rachael’s wedding dress below

Who provided your wedding flowers and what type of flowers / bouquet did you have?

My godmother, provided the wedding bouquets for me and my bridesmaids. They were handtied roses. The centrepieces and table decor for the ceremony and wedding breakfast were by Charlottes of Hatfield, with a mixture of red and dark pinks to compliment the colour palette of our wedding

What made your wedding feel personal to you? What kind of personal touches did you have

Definitely having Frankie our Spaniel as ring bearer for the wedding ceremony was a real personal touch and made the day feel even more special. I also think planning everything myself made it feel more special, I literally watched what I had imagined come to life for my fairytale wedding. Also, Jenson the DJ who is a close friend to both of us and absolutely carried the night ensuring our dance floor was always full of wedding guests.

Tell me about your first dance, which song did you dance to and why did you choose it?

We chose Beautiful head by The Courteeners for our first dance. We’re not really slow dance people, when we listened to beautiful head together, we just knew. The lyrics are perfect.

What were your highlight moments of you wedding day and memories you’ll cherish forever?

There were so many special moments that I loved. I’d probably say my favourites were seeing Daniel at the end of the aisle as I walked into the wedding ceremony, Frankie delivering the wedding rings in his tuxedo. Having my first glass of champagne as a wife and the fireworks at the end of the night.

What advice would you give to newly engaged couples planning their wedding day?

My advice to future bride and grooms would be not to overthink it, lavish in every second of your wedding day and definitely make the most of the time you’ve got – start your day early. Having the sweetheart table with just myself and Daniel for the wedding breakfast was such a good idea, we got to spend quality time together as a newly married couple.

You have over 750 photographs in your gallery, which is your favourite wedding photograph and why?

I think this is the hardest question I’ve ever been asked! I really can’t choose between these two wedding photos. The black and white one I feel looks like it’s from a magazine and the other is so special because it has our little boy (Frankie the dog) . Both of Rachael and Daniels favourite wedding photos below.
